PAIR OF 1970'S AMETHYST GEODE LAMPS

€2,950.00

Pair of 1970s Amethyst Geode Table Lamps

Italy, circa 1970s

This striking pair of table lamps combines natural mineral formation with the bold decorative language of 1970s design. Each lamp is constructed from authentic amethyst geode crystals mounted on a structure of chrome-plated steel and brass.

The irregular crystalline formations create a dramatic interplay between natural geology and polished metal, producing lighting that is both sculptural and atmospheric. When illuminated, the translucent violet tones of the amethyst catch and refract the light, revealing the subtle depth and complexity of the stone.

The lamps are finished with handmade lampshades crafted from cork paper with silver accents and trimmed with dark amethyst-coloured cording, complementing the mineral tones of the geode formations while maintaining the distinctive aesthetic of late twentieth-century decorative lighting.

The result is a pair of lamps that function equally well as lighting and as decorative objects.

Condition

The lamps remain in very good vintage condition. The geode elements and metal structures present well, with only minor signs of age consistent with their period.

Ideal Placement

These lamps work beautifully on sideboards, consoles, or large bedside tables where the sculptural quality of the geode formations can be appreciated. Their natural materials also make them particularly effective within interiors that combine modern design with organic textures.
