The Vintage Collection at KalaRara Roma comprises a curated selection of 20th-century design, centred on Italian masters, regional artistic craftsmanship, and rare works of architectural presence from other cultures.

Every piece is selected through the same curatorial approach that guides our own practice—not for its association with a particular style or period, but for its ability to express presence, material quality, and cultural value in dialogue with contemporary interiors.

The collection includes seating, tables, case pieces, lighting, objects, and a selection of Statement Pieces—singular works chosen for their capacity to define a room.

The Vintage Collection serves private collectors, architects, and interior designers working on residential, retail, hospitality, and boutique commercial projects. Because each work is unique, availability changes continuously. The collection functions as a rotating archive, refined through acquisition and placement.

Statement Pieces

Within the Vintage Collection, select works are classified as Statement Pieces.

These are objects of exceptional architectural presence—rare works capable of defining a room and shaping the identity of a space. Acquired infrequently and with intent, they often become focal points within layered interiors. They are not decorative additions, but defining elements.

Italian Modern & Beyond

The collection centres on Italian design from the 1930s through the early 21st century—a period of extraordinary material innovation and formal clarity.

Designers such as Gio Ponti, Paolo Buffa, Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua, and Piero Fornasetti are represented alongside lesser-known works whose design quality stands independently of name recognition.

Occasionally, the collection expands to include earlier or geographically diverse works of exceptional presence—pieces chosen not as period curiosities, but for their ability to bring depth, personality, and enduring character to contemporary interiors.

Condition & Restoration

Each vintage work is carefully evaluated prior to acquisition, with particular attention to structural integrity and overall condition. Preference is given to pieces preserved in very good to near-original condition.

Where restoration is necessary, it is undertaken by highly trained master craftsmen with respect for the designer's and manufacturer's original intent. Upholstered pieces are frequently reupholstered in premium designer fabrics, while padding and structural elements are restored to ensure longevity and comfort without compromising authenticity.

Each piece is prepared to arrive installation-ready—refined, stable, and ready for continued use.
