“Orbital Passage” is a one-of-a-kind circular wall work handcrafted in the KalaRara Roma atelier in Rome. The composition explores themes of cosmic motion and spatial equilibrium through the studio’s MicroCristallo Fusione technique.
The surface is created using MicroCristallo Fusione — a layered glass fusion process developed within the KalaRara Roma studio. Thousands of finely macerated glass crystals form a luminous field of deep blue across the circular composition, producing subtle shifts of color and light as the viewer moves through the space.
A sweeping golden arc moves across the surface like an orbital trajectory, guiding the eye through the composition. Suspended along this path are spherical forms rendered in vibrant tones of orange, emerald green, and deep cobalt. These elements evoke celestial bodies moving through a vast atmospheric field, creating a visual dialogue between motion and equilibrium.
The MicroCristallo Fusione composition is set upon a reclaimed beech wood panel, providing structural stability while reinforcing the handcrafted nature of the work.
Entirely handmade in Rome, “Orbital Passage” functions as a sculptural wall piece designed to invite quiet contemplation. The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity confirming its one-of-a-kind status and studio production.
