Equilibrium I - Wall Artwork in MicroCristallo Fusione

€3,600.00

A Composition Held at the Point of Balance

“EQUILIBRIUM I” is a one-of-a-kind wall artwork designed and handcrafted by KalaRara Roma. Set against an ivory field, a series of simplified forms appears to rise through the composition in a structure governed by balance, gravity and quiet tension.

The entire frontal surface is worked in MicroCristallo Fusione™. Forms in intense black, aquamarine, brown, orange and burgundy are arranged as if resting upon one another, their irregular contours suggesting stones, geological fragments or bodies held momentarily in place.

The composition is anchored by a broad black form at its base. Above it, the remaining elements meet through narrow points of contact, creating a balance that feels physically possible yet inherently precarious. A smaller orange form remains suspended above the structure—approaching, separating or occupying a different spatial plane. Its position leaves the movement of the composition unresolved.

The crystalline surface transforms this apparent stillness as it responds to light. Variations in texture and colour become visible from different viewpoints, allowing mass and luminosity to coexist within the same forms.

“EQUILIBRIUM I” was conceived together with “EQUILIBRIUM II” as part of a shared exploration of stability, weight and placement. Each work is complete in itself and is available separately; presented together, they establish a broader dialogue between two distinct states of equilibrium.

The artwork is constructed on a reclaimed beechwood support covered in linen. Its lateral sides are left unfinished, allowing the work to be framed according to its final architectural setting.

Entirely handcrafted in Rome, Italy, “EQUILIBRIUM I” is conceived as a sculptural wall work whose presence shifts between stillness and implied movement.
