Orbital Field II
2025
MicroCristallo Fusione, gold leaf, acrylic, jute on beechwood
90 × 90 × 5 cm
Orbital Field II continues KalaRara Roma’s exploration of luminous spatial structures through the MicroCristallo Fusione technique. Concentric chromatic bands radiate from a dark central field, forming a layered composition that evokes celestial movement and gravitational relationships.
Thousands of fused glass crystals interact with ambient light to create a subtly shifting surface that changes with the viewer’s movement. Circular elements of gold leaf appear suspended within the composition, suggesting planetary bodies moving through a luminous orbital system.
Created as the companion work to Orbital Field I, the piece extends the investigation of color, light, and spatial perception within a crystalline architectural surface.
